Dr. Ujit Kumar Karmacharya is an experienced cardiologist with over 10 years of expertise in both invasive cardiology procedures including coronary angiography, pericardiocentesis, and temporary pacemaker placement and noninvasive diagnostics such as ECG, echocardiography, treadmill testing, Holter study, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. His clinical expertise extends to preventive and clinical cardiology, with a focus on hypertension, heart failure, dyslipidemia, myocardial infarction, dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and oncocardiology. Over the span of 9 years, he has served at several leading institutions in Nepal, including Norvic International Hospital, Global Hospital & Education Foundation, and most recently The Grande International Hospital, where he spent nearly 3 years in the Department of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Care Unit. He has undergone several advanced trainings, including Four-Block Medical Transcription Training at Heartland Transcription Center, New Delhi; a Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Adult & Pediatric Echocardiography from New Delhi and The Global Open University, Nagaland; and a certified program in Diabetes Care designed by Harvard Medical School. He also participated in the Clinical Diabetology Update 2016. His academic excellence has been recognized with the Outstanding Student Award (2012) and Best Presenter in the Thesis Defense Program (2015). Dr. Karmacharya has authored numerous research publications in international journals, with significant contributions on aortic dissection, cardiovascular risk assessment, myocardial infarction, and pediatric sleep apnea. His articles have been published in International Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Experimental and Clinical Cardiology, and Ethnicity & Disease, among others. He is a life member of the Cardiac Society of Nepal (CSN), Nepal Medical Association (NMA), and Society of Internal Medicine of Nepal (SIMON). Additionally, he is a member of the American Heart Association (AHA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the Asian Society of Oncocardiology, reflecting his commitment to advancing cardiology and oncocardiology in Nepal and beyond.
