Dr. Robin Joshi is a highly experienced Uro-Oncologist and Urologist in Nepal, currently practicing at the Nepal Cancer Hospital & Research Center (NCHRC). He has been providing specialized services in the field of uro-oncology and urology, with extensive expertise in both open and endoscopic surgeries. Dr. Joshi routinely performs radical surgeries for bladder, prostate, kidney, penile, and testicular cancers, along with advanced endoscopic procedures such as TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostate) and TURBT (Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor). To DATE, he has successfully carried out over 40 radical cystoprostatectomies (RCP), including 15 with neo-bladder reconstruction for urinary bladder cancer, more than 10 radical prostatectomies for prostate cancer, several penectomies with inguinal lymph node dissections for penile cancers, and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomies for testicular cancers. In addition, he has performed numerous TURPs for enlarged prostates and TURBTs for bladder cancers. Dr. Joshi also pioneered the introduction of bipolar TURP/TURBT and flexible ureteroscopy for the diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the urinary tract in NCHRC, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy and raising the standard of uro-oncology care in Nepal. Dr. Joshi is also deeply committed to academic contributions, with a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. His works cover a broad range of topics, including suspected biliary and gastric malignancies, liver abscess, double J stent-associated infections, laparoscopic ureterolithotomy, nephrolithotomy, targeted therapy for renal cell carcinoma, and the use of chemoports. He has also documented rare cases such as ureter quadruplication with huge ureteral cyst. In addition, Dr. Joshi has delivered numerous oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences, including the ACOS Congress in Seoul (2012), SIU Congress in Japan (2012), the 12th International Surgical Conference of Nepal (2012), Urofair Singapore (2013), the Korean Cancer Association in Seoul (2013), SIU Melbourne (2015), and was invited as a guest speaker at Fukuoka, Japan in 2018, where he presented on radical cystoprostatectomy in elderly patients and its complications. He is equally active in the professional community and has held several leadership positions. Dr. Joshi is a past Vice President and General Secretary of the Society of Surgeons of Nepal (SSN), a past Executive Member of the Nepalese Association of Urological Surgeons (NAUS), and a long-TIME member of the Nepal Medical Association. Internationally, he is affiliated with the Society of International Urology (SIU), Canada, the Urological Society of India (North Zone), and serves as a Council Member of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society (ACOS), Japan.
