About

Dr. Tiwari has been part of the medical oncology unit of Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research center since the establishment. She is among the very first medical oncologists registered in Nepal Medical Council. She completed her residency in medical oncology under renowned oncologist Prof. Li Suyi of Southeast University, China. She worked under him for first few months and trained for nutritional care of cancer patients. She worked at Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital for 6 months.

She trained in Pain and Palliative Care in cancer patients at MNJ hospital, Hyderabad, India. She has been actively involved and leads Pain and Palliative Care Unit at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center. She is among the core members of developing Pain and Palliative care protocols and policies. On an average, she provides pain and palliative care to more than 100 patients in a month.

She was awarded with IDEA PC Award from American Society of Clinical Oncology(ASCO), USA (2018). She has received grants to present her papers at international oncology conferences. In addition, she has presented few papers in various medical conferences and seminars both in Nepal and abroad.

Her motto is “Every patient with life limiting illness deserves palliative care”. Her desire to practice evidence based medicine ensures highest standard of quality care for her patients.
