About

Dr Ghimire earned his MBBS from BVU (Binoba Vhabe University), India, and MD in Medical Oncology from Sun Yat-Sen University, China and carries an experience of more than 15 years in Medical Oncology. He has done a fellowship in Medical Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center (RGCIRC), New Delhi, India and National Cancer Institute (NCI), Bethesda, USA.

He is a recipient of International Development and Education Award 2009 (IDEA) at Orlando and International Development and Education Award in Palliative Care 2011, (IDEA-PC) at Chicago from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He was also recognized as Global Cancer Ambassador from Nepal in 2011 by American Cancer Society (ACS) to raise cancer voice to put forward specific requests for the UN High-Level Meeting on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at United Nations.

In his 20 years of clinical practice, he had been affiliated with many medical institutions like Om Hospital and Research Center, Teaching hospital Maharajgunj, Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, Sarvanga Hospital, Norvic International Hospital and Medical College. As a part of his dream to establish International Standard Cancer Hospital in Nepal for Nepalese cancer patients, he co-founded Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center (NCHRC) with Dr Sudip Shrestha. He is currently one of the Board of Directors of NCHRC since 2011. He is co-founder & Vice president of Nepal Cancer Support Group (NCSG), an NGO dedicated in cancer awarness , support and advocacy.
