Today, more than half of all patients diagnosed with cancer can be cured, and many others will live long, meaningful lives even with cancer. But it is crucial to get a correct diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment right from the start.
When you are fighting a life-changing diagnosis like cancer, you want the best team on your side. Effective cancer care requires a combination of the best doctors, the latest technologies, a patient-centered approach, and a host of supportive services that boost your physical and mental health.
At Nepal Cancer Hospital, we have brought together everything under one roof. We want to give you the best chance to fight cancer, and we are fully invested in your success.
THE BEST FOR CANCER
Our sole focus is cancer, with services ranging from prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and care. Here, you will find the expertise needed to diagnose and treat a wide range of cancers in all phases.
Comprehensive Cancer Care
To be a center of excellence for cancer care, services need to be comprehensive. Unless all facilities for cancer care are under one roof, a hospital won’t be able to develop the necessary expertise, or tailor the most optimal treatment plant from a mix of a wide range of interventions. At our comprehensive care center, diagnostics can progress alongside a multifaceted treatment and support plan, ensuring the best care for you.
The Best Oncologists
Our senior medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, diagnostic and interventional radiologists, and senior consultant pathologists have decades of pioneering work in cancer care (oncology). Our senior consultants are some of the best oncologists in the country. They are passionate about fighting cancer and some of them have spent their whole lives on cancer care.
Our surgeons handle a high volume of cases and are among the most experienced in Nepal. They are well versed in surgical procedures to reconstruct the breast colon tongue mouth and the rectum following cancer surgery.
Our radiologists and radiation oncologists are experts at detecting and administering the most powerful cancer treatments with pinpoint accuracy and precision, improving the chances of a complete treatment.
We also invest to make sure our staff can take part in research, training and conferences, staying updated on the latest clinical practices. When you choose us, you can rest assured that your cancer care is in good hands.
We have a regular tumor board where a panel of experts from medical, surgical and radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and concerned allied specialties conducts discussions on difficult cases and identifies a multimodality treatment plan, which is the best treatment possible.
We have the facilities and international partnerships to allow us to consult with relevant oncologists and other experts across the world. Set up in association with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, our telemedicine services ensure that our patients can benefit from the best international expertise in cancer.
Patients are at the heart of our approach to cancer care.
Patient Admission Officer /Counselor
When you are admitted to Nepal Cancer Hospital, you will be assigned a counselor. The counselor is your “guide” to the hospital, and your go-to source for information. They will be able to answer your questions on your length of stay, procedures you choose to undergo, the facilities at the hospital, making payments, and any other questions you may have. Anything you want or need, just ask them.
A Team Effort
At Nepal Cancer Hospital, teams of doctors from different specialties work together to guide you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The multidisciplinary team will be composed of medical oncologists and hematologists, supplemented by a multidisciplinary team of physicians from other sub-specialty areas: surgeons, radiologists, scientists, nurses, and social workers.
This team approach allows us to tailor your treatment carefully, selecting from the full menu. Our oncologists often employ immunotherapy and targeted therapy in combination with chemotherapy to more effectively treat regular cancers.
Our qualified oncology nurses work together with doctors and are essential parts of the healthcare teams. Their support, encouragement, and deep sense of caring bring tremendous comfort to our patients and their loved ones. To ensure quality care, the same nurses are assigned to patients throughout their stay.
Our clinical pharmacist is a core member of Nepal Cancer Hospital team. The clinical pharmacist will monitor all drugs prescribed to you, looking out for any adverse drug reactions, and ensuring the appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of your medication use. They will work with other members of your care team, including doctors and nurses to implement a medication plan that can best meet your overall treatment goals, as well as your particular needs and desires.
With specialization in drug safety and adverse drug reactions, the clinical pharmacist will provide an additional layer of vigilance to ensure that you can safely take all the prescribed drugs that are a part of your treatment plan.
A HOLISTIC APPROACH
With a holistic approach to cancer care, we are incorporating preventative aspects, reaching the community with messages on risks, self-screening and early detection. We also focus on oncogenetic counselling, psychotherapy and psychological counselling, and survivor support groups. Palliative care is also an important aspect of our approach.
When you are getting treated for cancer, you need a lot of support for your nutrition, pain management, and to reduce your stress. With all these services available under one roof, complemented by alternative medicine, we are the place to come to get total support for your full mental and physical health as you fight cancer.

Infection Control Program
Cancer patients have weakened immune systems, and are highly susceptible to opportunistic infections, which can throw a wrench on their treatment plan.
At Nepal Cancer Hospital, we take infection control very seriously.
We have a comprehensive infection control policy to prevent diseases from spreading inside the hospital. Our staff is well trained on infection control guidelines, including isolation of high risk patients, investigating outbreaks, prescribing antibiotics, and keeping constant surveillance to control infections.
We also work hard to ensure that our patients and visitors strictly follow infection control guidelines. We organize patient awareness workshops, have reminders throughout the hospital, and have made alcohol hand rub available for general use at the entrance of the hospital, wards, and at bedside.
Our infection control policy has decreased the rate of cross-infections and improved patient outcomes.
