Every year May 5th is observed as Global Hand Hygiene Day. This year’s theme for the event is "Fight Antibiotic Resistance – Its in your hand”. Dr Prakash Ghimire, National Professional Officer from the World Health Organization(WHO) was the Chief Guest. We were also graced by Mr. Jhalak Sharma Poudel, Chief Public Health Administrator, District Public Health Office, Lalitpur, and Professor Tara Pokherel, President, Nursing Association of Nepal. The program was chaired by Dr. Sudip Shrestha, Executive Chairman of NCHRC. In the program, all the speakers stressed the importance of Hand Hygiene among health care workers to reduce Antimicrobial Resistance and other hospital acquired infections.
